This is an exceptional group of medals to Commandant Robert Brennan who led the Wexford Volunteers and took control of Enniscorty during Easter Week 1916.
This was the most significant Volunteer action outside of Dublin.
They held out until he received an order from Pearse to surrender.

Very nice early type Riot helmet as used right from the start of the Troubles 1969 - the mid 1980s .This has an original newspaper from 1972 inside the liner probably for insulation with a story of two officers captured by the IRA but released. The face shield was made in Northern Ireland in a hurry and was fixed to the first helmets and not removable, so handed over from one unit to the next ...  read more
